This is a list of foods that are harmful to your dog. It is not an exhaustive list. if your dog ingests any of these it may cause vomiting, abdominal pain and/or diarrhea. If anything like this were to happen our advice is to take your dog to your vet. As an alternative you can call the Pet Poison Helpline.
Wild cherry
Almond
Apricot
Balsam Pear
Japanese Plum
May cause varied reactions:
Yeast dough
Coffee grounds
Macadamia nuts
Tomato and potato leaves and stems
Avocados
Onions and onion powder
Grapes
Raisins
Chocolate
Pear and peach kernels
Mushrooms (if also toxic to humans)
Rhubarb
Spinach
Alcohol

  1. Years ago I remember hearing this woman going off on a stranger who was feeding their dog MEM candies. She was yelling,"You are killing your dog, they cant have Chocolate", and so on.. I felt horrible that I was not educated on the subject with any facts. And all i could think about was that gift our neighbors had brought over... We hadn't even opened it. But My labrador had maticulously lifted the entire tray of assorted homemade fudge, peanut brittle, brownies & choclate drops, which had been decoratively wrapped with colored cellophane.

    Well she did not die after consuming that enyire tray. sel off thatctray. and we never found a single shread of evidence trace

  2. So i looked up a few facts. My Shih Tzu would have to consume 30 grams of pure Cocoa in a single dose to be a toxic life threatening amount. But all of these toxic foods attack the pancrease and stomach and overtime will cause serious, painful damage.
